1. Rental Agreement

By renting from Indian Clothing in Oslo, you agree to the following terms. The rental period begins on the collection or delivery date agreed upon at booking and ends on the agreed return date. All items remain the property of Indian Clothing in Oslo at all times.

2. Booking & Payment

  • A deposit of 30–50% of the total rental amount is required to confirm your booking.
  • All payments are made via Vipps — private person to person.
  • The remaining balance is paid before or at the time of collection/delivery.
  • Bookings are confirmed only after the deposit is received.

3. Outfit Care

  • Items must be returned in the same condition as received — clean and undamaged.
  • Dry cleaning is not included in the rental price and will be charged separately upon return.
  • Please handle all garments with care. Avoid perfume, deodorant, or food contact where possible.

4. Alterations

Alterations are not available. Outfits are rented as-is to preserve their quality for all customers. We strongly recommend confirming your measurements carefully before booking.

5. Damage

  • Minor wear and tear from normal use is expected and accepted.
  • Significant damage (tears, stains, missing embellishments) will incur a damage fee based on repair or replacement cost.
  • Optional Damage Waiver Protection (45 NOK) covers accidental damage during the rental period.

6. Late Returns

Returns after the agreed date will be charged at the daily rate for each additional day.

What data we collect

When you contact us or submit a booking request, we may collect:

  • Your full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Event date and outfit preferences

How we use your data

Your information is used solely to process and fulfil your rental booking. We will contact you to confirm availability, discuss details, and arrange collection or delivery. We do not sell, share, or pass your data to any third party.

Data storage

Contact form submissions are stored securely via Netlify Forms. WhatsApp conversations are stored within the WhatsApp application under standard WhatsApp privacy terms. We do not store personal data beyond what is needed to complete your booking.

Your rights (GDPR)

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Withdraw consent at any time

Return Policy

How to return

Return the outfit to us in person at the agreed location, or arrange drop-off by prior agreement. Please bring the outfit in its original packaging or a clean garment bag if possible.

Condition on return

  • Items should be returned in the same general condition as received.
  • Surface wrinkles from wearing are expected — steaming is included.
  • Dry cleaning is not included in the rental price and will be charged separately.
  • Significant stains or damage will incur additional charges (see Terms & Conditions).

Deposit refund

Once the item is returned and inspected, your remaining deposit balance (minus any applicable cleaning or damage charges) will be refunded via Vipps within 5 business days.

Lost or stolen items

If an item is lost or stolen during your rental period, you are responsible for the full replacement cost of the garment.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation by the customer

  • More than 7 days before the rental start: Full deposit refund, minus a small processing fee of 50 NOK.
  • 3–7 days before the rental start: 50% of the deposit is refunded. The remaining 50% is retained.
  • Less than 48 hours before the rental start: No refund. The full deposit is retained.

Cancellation by us

In the unlikely event that we need to cancel a confirmed booking (e.g. due to unexpected damage to the item), we will inform you as soon as possible and offer:

  • A full refund of your deposit, or
  • An alternative outfit of equal or greater value, subject to availability

Emergency cancellations

We understand that life happens. If you need to cancel due to an emergency, please contact us directly on WhatsApp as early as possible and we will do our best to accommodate you.
